Bright’s Summer Icon Since 1982

The Bright Waterslide isn’t just our community’s favourite summer attraction – it’s our club’s major fundraiser and a testament to what volunteers can achieve together. Located at the end of Centenary Park on the beautiful Ovens River, this iconic green slide has brought joy to thousands of visitors and locals for over 40 years while raising more than one million dollars for local community projects.

Community Impact Through Fun

Funds raised from waterslide operations go back into a variety of projects both local and international through grants, infrastructure projects and support for local organisations. From the Rotary Pine Plantation that funded our sports precinct upgrades to supporting local CFA equipment and individual community assistance programs, the waterslide has been the engine that powers much of our community service work.

Volunteer-Powered Operations

The waterslide runs entirely through the dedication of Rotary members and our volunteers. We traditionally operate from Boxing Day through to the end of school holidays and in some years extend to weekends in February – though our operating schedule depends on having enough volunteers available. Every shift requires committed volunteers to ensure safety and smooth operations during Bright’s busiest summer period.
